About us

The aim of the Association is to inform, support and represent Driving Instructors in the local area, providing opportunity for Continuing Professional Development and to promote the common goal of improving Road Safety, to as wide a membership as possible.

Formerly Stirling and District ADI Association, the group was formed in 1984 and we have seen many changes in our industry over the years. The group is run on a voluntary basis by a committee who are elected from the membership at each Annual General Meeting. At our AGM in March 2012 we changed our name to Forth Valley Driving Instructors Association to reflect our membership coming from a wider area and to encourage more instructors to benefit from membership of our association.

We hold regular meetings (currently quarterly) where members can gather to discuss issues and topics relating to driver training and road safety, and we aim to have a guest speaker or presentation at every meeting so that there is always an opportunity for Continuing Professional Development. We also have a good relationship and liaise regularly with DSA Driving Examiners who conduct driving tests in our area, allowing our members to be kept up to date on local information relating to the driving test.

If you have any questions relating to what we do or any general enquiries you can contact us on this page.

If you are a driving instructor (ADI or PDI) who is interested in joining our group then please visit our Benefits Page to find out what Forth Valley DIA has to offer you.
